CBA deals South boys first loss

Charles B. Aycock’s varsity boys basketball team topped host South Johnston, 69-67, in double overtime on Saturday to win the holiday tournament hosted by the Trojans.

South slipped to 9-1 with its first loss.

Senior Charles Walker scored 20 points for the Golden Falcons (6-5) and was named tournament MVP.

The CBA girls held a 30-4 lead over Princeton at halftime and took a 51-33 win in the girls final.

South returns to action on Friday night at home against Fuquay-Varina.
