The Harnett Central varsity girls basketball team topped visiting Triton, 51-38, as Syniah McMiller had 19 points on Friday night.
Brittany Mills scored 15, Lya Molyneaux tallied 14 and Shay Ward added three as the Lady Trojans improved to 9-2 overall and 7-2 in the Tri-County Six 3-A Conference.
Triton (10-3, 7-3) got 10 points from Kaila Cooney, eight points from Tristan Ennis and seven each from A’Shari Watlington and Abby Hood. Tallying two points apiece for the Lady Hawks were Anastasia McDonald, Carleigh Hemby and Aubree Bass.
Mills had six steals for Central, which led 26-9 at the half.
Hood had a game-high 10 rebounds and Ennis grabbed seven. Cooney had seven assists and three steals.
Brackets for the NCHSAA playoffs are scheduled to be released on Sunday.
Central took a 43-34 win in the junior varsity boys game. The varsity boys did not play due to COVID issues involving the Trojans.
