Harnett Central broke a 1-1 tie at Triton on Tuesday with four runs in the fifth inning and the Trojans went on to remain unbeaten in varsity softball in the All American Conference with an 11-5 win.
The Trojans added six runs in the sixth inning in improving to 12-4 overall and 11-0 in league play.
Both teams had nine hits but the Hawks (13-4, 9-2 AAC) committed three errors while the Trojans were without a miscue.
Freshman Molly Champion had two hits and three RBIs in the win. Ava Faucette had two hits and an RBI. Lauren Faulkner had two hits. Haleigh Moss had a double. Karli Johnson had a hit and an RBI.
Scoring two runs apiece were Faucette, Bethany Gonzalez and Champion.
Mackenzie Lucas had three hits and an RBI for the Hawks. Getting two hits each with a run driven in were Sydney Bradham and Bailey Johnson. Cami Pope had two hits. Paisley Lucas had a hit.
Bree Tenters (four and two-thirds innings) and Charleigh Jarriel (two and one-third innings) were in the circle for the visitors.
Triton travels to Central on Thursday for a 7 p.m. start.
