The Cape Fear Christian Academy varsity boys basketball team completed a 2-game sweep at Fayetteville Christian School on Friday night with a 61-47 Sandhills Athletic Conference victory.
The Eagles were led by 19 points from Jabare Perry in improving to 18-6 overall and 5-0 in league play. The Warriors (6-9, 1-3) managed an early lead but CFCA was on top, 30-24, at the half. The Eagles pushed the lead to 12 before FCS rallied within a point in the second half.
Guard Tomas Stevens paced the hosts with 31 points.
Perry had 12 points in the fourth quarter as CFCA outscored the Warriors, 14-5, in the final period.
Cinque Lemon had 12 of his 14 points in the first half for the Eagles. Amari Pearson and Truman Claytor finished with seven points each for CFCA. Caden Bell had six points on a pair of third quarter threes. Tristin Harkins and Kaleb Siler added four points each.
Tyler Henderson had 19 points for the Eagle junior varsity boys in a 68-53 win. Jake Gronowski scored 17, Darris Simmons tallied 15 and Zeke Brock had 13. Trevor McLamb added two points. Scoring one point each as the CFCA JV moved to 2-1 in league play were Wyatt Medlin and Grant Paisley.
There was no varsity girls game as Fayetteville Christian observed COVID protocols.
All three of the Eagles’ upper school teams are scheduled to host Freedom Christian on Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m.
