Cape Fear Christian Academy’s boys basketball teams posted a pair of Sandhills Athletic Conference wins over visiting Fayetteville Christian in make-up games on Tuesday night.
The CFCA varsity rallied for a 79-51 win to assure a winning season after trailing 16-9 after eight minutes.
The Eagles extended their defense in the second quarter and went on a 33-14 run to take control.
DeShawn Woods had 35 points as CFCA improved to 14-10 overall and 6-5 in league play going into the last night of the regular season at Northwood Temple on Thursday.
Woods made 13 of 26 field goal attempts, including seven of 13 from beyond the arc.
Zeke Brock had 18 points, 14 assists and six steals. Reid Miller made six of nine from the floor and had 13 points.
David Okropiridze finished with seven points, eight rebounds and three assists. Trevor McLamb added six points, four rebounds and two steals.
The Eagles completed a sweep of the season series, following up on a 66-47 victory at Fayetteville Christian on February 3.
JV dominates
The CFCA junior varsity won its previous meeting at FCS, 30-27, but was much more convincing in a 57-30 outcome on Tuesday.
Wyatt Medlin had 23 points as the junior Eagles improved to 8-7 overall and 3-6 in the SAC.
Ethan Beasley had 17 points. Brandon Surles and Lathan Wilborn scored six each. Elijah Ellis tallied three and Tony Cornette-McGuire contributed two points.
