CFCA boys top Ravenscroft

The Cape Fear Christian Academy varsity boys basketball team won its opening game in the 10th annual South Granville Holiday Invitational Tournament, 55-50, over Ravenscroft on Thursday morning.

The Eagles (10-3) will meet Rolesville (7-3) in the semifinals of the Columbia Division on Friday at 4:30 p.m. The Rams defeated Chapel Hill, 74-47, on Thursday.

Mel Carter had 17 points for CFCA against the Ravens (4-8). Jeremyah McWilliams had 14 points and six rebounds. Greg Moneymaker had 11 points and six rebounds. Paul Tako finished with 11 points and five rebounds. Sila Tako added two points and six rebounds.
