CFCA fishing team has successful tournament

The Cape Fear Christian Academy fishing team competed well in The Bass Federation Student Angler Federation of North Carolina tournament on the Roanoke River at Plymouth on Saturday.

River Ennis and Reid Miller of CFCA won the high school division with Miller reeling in a 6-pound, 14-ounce bass for biggest fish in the division.

Aubrey Jackson and Meredith Taylor of CFCA were third among six teams in the high school division.

Fuquay-Varina Middle School won the junior division with Carter Glass and Nolan Clark of CFCA coming in second among six teams. Clark had the junior division’s biggest catch at 4 pounds, 4.1 ounces.

The next tournament will be on November 7 at Lake James in Nebo.
