Spencer George is poised to start for Cape Fear Christian Academy.

Cape Fear Christian Academy’s swimming team got first-pace finishes from junior Spencer George and eighth-grader Ruby George in a meet hosted by The O’Neal School in Southern Pines on Thursday.

Spencer George won the boys 100-yard freestyle in 53.77 seconds and was second on the 50 free in 25.00.

Ruby George won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:12.19 and finished second in the girls 50 free in 29.49.

Ruby George was first in the 100-yard backstroke.
