The Cape Fear Christian Academy varsity girls basketball team defeated visiting Northwood Temple, 52-15 on Wednesday night to improve to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the Sandhills Athletic Conference.

Cailee Ray scored 18 points for the Lady Eagles and Ella John Dupree added 15. Perri Caroline Ennis had eight points in the win, Trinity Olive scored five, Mariah Bell tallied four and Laney Trainer netted two points.

Northwood pulled away to a 102-64 win in the varsity boys game despite 27 points from Deshaun Woods. Zeke Brock had 16 points as CFCA slipped to 7-7 on the season and 0-2 in league play.

David Okropiridze had nine points for the hosts. Trevor McLamb and Reid Miller scored five points each. Lathan Wilborn added two points.

Northwood won the junior varsity boys game, 47-30.

CFCA hosts Berean Baptist tonight (January 6). It will be Senior Night for the varsity boys.
