CFCA girls take tournament at Southern Wayne

The CFCA girls won the annual event on Friday.

The Cape Fear Christian Academy varsity girls basketball team won the annual Junior Varsity Tournament at Southern Wayne on Friday with a 40-34 victory in the final against Wilson Hunt.

The Lady Eagles were allowed to play in the event because they have just two juniors and no seniors.

Leah Brannon had 13 points as the CFCA girls improved to 8-4. Claire Parker scored eight points.

Meredith Taylor had six points. Kristen Bass finished with five points. Anslee McLamb and Jada Horne had three points each. Talisha McNeill and Aubree Bass added one point apiece.
