Cape Fear Christian Academy took an 8-1 win over visiting Fayetteville Christian on Tuesday to win the Sandhills Athletic Conference tournament.

The Eagles recognized seniors Anna Jackson, Aubrey Jackson and Nina Sauer after improving to 12-1 overall.

Singles winners for CFCA included Ella John Dupree at No. 1, Nina Sauer at No. 3, Karson Hamilton at No. 4, Anna Jackson at No. 5 and Savannah Autry at No. 6.

Teaming in doubles at Nos. 1-3 were Dupree and Anna Jackson, Aubrey Jackson and Hamilton, and Sauer and Autry.

“We played a good match tonight,” said Eagles coach Page Jackson. “Our team has good experienced players at every position and that makes for a good team.

“We have played some good teams this year and that has helped us get prepared for the conference and state tournaments.

“I’m excited to see how far this team can go.”
