The Cape Fear Christian Academy girls tennis team won its first Sandhills Athletic Conference match on Monday, 7-2, over Fayetteville Christian at the Harnett Central courts.
The Eagles, 1-2 overall, took four of six singles matches and swept the doubles.
“This was a good win for our young team,” said CFCA coach Page Jackson. “Hopefully, it will give us some confidence moving forward.”
The Eagles continue league play against Village Christian at Arnette Park in Fayetteville on Wednesday at 4 p.m. CFCA topped the Knights for the SAC Tournament championship last year.
Singles winners for the Eagles on Monday included Anna Jackson at No. 2, Madeline Brocious at No. 3, Aubrey Jackson at No. 4 and Karson Hamilton at No. 6.
Teaming for doubles wins were Ella John Dupree and Anna Jackson at No. 1, Brocious and Aubrey Jackson at No. 2 and Nina Sauer and Hamilton at No. 3.
