Cape Fear Christian Academy opened varsity boys golf season Tuesday with a pair of narrow wins over Crossroads Christian of Henderson at Keith Hills.
The Colts won the Mid-Carolina Conference regular season and tournament chmpionships in 2023.
CFCA edged Crossroads, 129-130, in both 9-hole matches over the Orange and Black nines.
Will Betts and Colin McLeod of the Eagles earned medalist honors in the opening match with 42s.
McLeod was the low scorer on the second nine with a 40.
Low scores overall were McLeod with an 82, Cade Godwin with an 87 and Betts (88).
Lee Christian and New Garden Friends did not play in the first MCC event of 2024.
Crossroads will host the next MCC match at the Kerr Lake Golf Club on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
