Cape Fear Christian Academy’s junior varsity boys basketball team overcame a 28-22 deficit at the half to down visiting Clinton, 64-48, on Monday night.
DeShaun Woods had 23 points, Zeke Brock scored 21 and Owen Gregory netted 14 as the junior Eagles improved to 8-0 going into a game Tuesday night at Raleigh Homeschool.
Dolan Adams had four points and Jaden Crumley added two.
“We made some adjustments at the half,” said CFCA coach Dwain Ellis. “We had not played against a 2-3 zone. We had to start attacking the gaps.”
CFCA girls turn back East Duplin
The CFCA girls took a 30-15 win over the visiting JV girls from East Duplin in the second game Monday night.
Kristen Bass, Leah Brannon and Aubree Bass had six points each as the CFCA girls upped their record to 7-4.
Anslee McLamb and Claire Parker scored four points each.
Jada Horne and Rachel Clearman had two points apiece.
