CFCA middle school baseball defeats Fayetteville Christian

Cape Fear Christian Academy’s middle school baseball team took a 15-0 Southeastern Conference win in three innings over visiting Fayetteville Christian on Monday.

Eli Burns and Paul Maynor combined for a no-hitter for the Eagles (2-2).

Landon Alphin had two hits for CFCA and was hit by a pitch. Cason Pope had a double and drew two walks.

Conner Parrish, Fisher Stancil, Andrew Maynor and Burns all had one hit and drew a walk.

Reed Ennis and Palmer Ennis drew one walk each.

Burns faced seven batters in two innings with five strikeouts. Maynor pitched the top of the third and faced four batters with two strikeouts.

Village wins, 12-8

The Eagles were coming off a 12-8 home loss to Village Christian in seven innings on Friday.

Village broke a tie score at 3 in the fifth inning with six runs as the visitors took advantage of CFCA errors.

Pope and Stancil were had three hits apiece, Paul Maynor had two hits with a double, Parrish had a double and Burns had a hit.

Stancil got the start on the mound and pitched three complete innings. He faced 19 batters with five strikeouts. He allowed five hits and two earned runs. Pope, Landon Alphin and Burns also pitched.
