CFCA middle school girls advance to tournament final

Cape Fear Christian Academy’s middle school girls basketball team defeated The O’Neal School of Southern Pines, 31-20, in the semifinals of the Southeastern Conference tournament on Monday at the CFCA gym.

The hosts pulled away from a tie at 14 in the second half.

Madeline Brocious led the Eagles with 11 points. Perri Caroline Ennis had 10 points. Point guard Ella John Dupree added six points. Bailey Dunn and Laney Trainer scored two points each.

CFCA visits Northwood Temple on Wednesday, February 19, at 3:30 p.m. for the championship.
