Cape Fear Christian Academy’s middle school basketball teams won semifinal games at home in the Mid-Carolina Conference tournament on Monday.
The Eagle girls were 32-23 winners over Crossroads Christian and the CFCA boys topped Lee Christian, 46-31.
The CFCA girls were led by eight points each from Mary Andemichael and Carolina Wynns. Ella Wilborn scored seven points, Kinsley Godwin had five points and Lily Stanley added four.
“I am proud pf the girls and how hard they came out to play,” Falon Kessler, girls coach. “They worked hard on defense and played well together.”
The CFCA girls host the MCC Tournament championship against Cresset on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The CFCA boys will host the MCC final against Crossroads following the girls game.
Eli Shwaikeh led the Eagle boys with 15 points on Monday and Tyson Stephens scored 13. Gunner Dorman had eight points. Sawyer Tyndall and Luke Meyer had three points each. Parker McLamb and Collin McLeod added two points apiece.
“The boys played great today,” said Coach Alex Godwin. “They were passing the ball and weren’t being selfish. They set up a great full court press that have us the advantage.”
