Cape Fear Christian Academy’s varsity softball team reached the NCISAA 1-A championship series with a 3-0 win over visiting Lawrence on Tuesday.
The top-seeded Eagles (17-4) will host Wednesday’s Halifax-Pungo winner in a best-of-three for the state title on Friday and Saturday.
Kim Bordeaux pitched a 2-hitter with 15 strikeouts, and Rhyleigh Horne had two hits with two RBIs. Seventh-grader Megan Harrold had three hits with a double and scored a run.
Cailee Ray and Mariah Bell each had one hit and scored a run. Trinity Olive had a hit and an RBI. Kristina Kennedy was 1-for-2 with a walk.
