Baseball defeated by Village
The CFCA varsity baseball team fell to 1-1 going into a nonconference game at home against Liberty Christian on Thursday at 4 p.m. with an 18-0 Sandhills Athletic Conference loss to visiting Village on Tuesday.
“Reid (Miller) pitched well, giving up two runs in the first two innings,” noted CFCA coach Marty Priebe. “Zeke (Brock) relieved Wesley (Jackson) in the fourth and did well, giving up only one unearned run.
“Wesley pitched better than the first game (9-7 win over Community Christian). A lot of their hits weren’t hit hard but found the holes. Our defense needs to improve.
“The older guys put the ball in play, but could only manage three hits. We still need to work on hitting.”
Trevor McLamb, Jaden Crumley and Miller were each 1-for-2 for CFCA.
