Cape Fear Christian Academy’s varsity softball team won, 11-0, in five innings at Faith Christian of Rocky Mount on Monday.

Claire Parker struck out 13 of 17 Patriots batters she faced, allowing just one hit.

“Claire Parker pitched a great game with excellent catching from Bekah Ennis,” said CFCA coach Sterling Holmes. “The team hit great from start to finish.”

Rhyleigh Horne and Kim Bordeaux both were 3-for-4 at the plate. Ennis was 2-for-2 and was hit by a pitch.

Also getting two hits each were Averi Williams, Mackenzie Burris, Mariah Bell and Cailee Ray.

The Eagles (1-2-1) were scheduled to open Sandhills Athletic Conference play at Village Christian of Fayetteville on Tuesday at 4 p.m. but that game was postponed to April 21 due to COVID protocols involving Village.
