Cape Fear Christian Academy took a 1-0 Sandhills Athletic Conference girls soccer win over visiting Northwood Temple Academy on Tuesday.
The teams had played to a draw on March 26.
Alexis Crumley scored CFCA’s goal in the first half on Tuesday on a through ball from Ella John Dupree.
Aubrey Jackson anchored the defense in goal for the shutout.
“Great team effort today,” said CFCA coach Michael Breslin. “All of the basics we’ve been working on throughout the year paid off. Players stayed in their positions and passed rather than just kicking the ball.
“We were aggressive and won the 50-50 balls.”
CFCA hosts Christ the Cornerstone for a nonconference match on Thursday at 4 p.m. and returns to league play against visiting Village Christian on Friday at 4 p.m.
