Freshman Jackson Breslin scored three goals, Dolan Adams tallied twice and Grayson Barefoot had the first goal as the Cape Fear Christian Academy varsity boys soccer team took a 6-3 nonconference win Monday over visiting Riverside Christian of Fayetteville.
Barefoot scored in the 14th minute with Breslin assisting and CFCA led the rest of the way.
The Eagles were ahead 3-1 at the half.
“Overall, the team played very well,” said CFCA coach Michael Breslin. “We’ve been working on maintaining possession and building the attack and I think we are starting to see dividends.
“With Dolan back in the lineup, he and Jackson are able to split the defenders and get a lot of shots on frame. I’m proud of how the team is coming together.”
The Eagles are scheduled to host Village Christian today at 4 p.m. in a Sandhills Athletic Conference match.
