The Cape Fear Christian Academy girls tennis team improved to 2-1 with a 7-2 win at Oakwood in Greenville on Thursday.
CFCA has beaten Oakwood three times since a loss in the 2022 NCISAA 1-A championship.
Singles winners for CFCA included Karson Hamilton at No. 1, Savannag Autry at No. 3, Lily Kate Dupree, at No. 4 and Ava Jones at No. 6.
A CFCA sweep in doubles included Hamilton and Autry at No. 1, Dupree and Ella Butts at No. 2 and Jones and Addison Lanpher at No. 3.
“This was a good match for our team,” said CFCA coach Page Jackson, “There were some really close matches that we can learn from with what we need to improve on. I see improvement with every match and that’s key to getting ready for the state tournament.”
CFCA visits Fayetteville Christian for a match Monday at 4 p.m. at Tokay Park.

Karson Hamilton improved to 2-0 in the No. 1 singles.
