Cape Fear Christian Academy’s fishing team of River Ennis and Aubrey Bass finished third in the Southern Division and 13th overall in the Bass Federation Junior World Championship at Mosquito Lake in Trumbull County, Ohio, at the close of July.

CFCA’s fishing team was 18th overall last year when the tournament was held in Arkansas.

Ennis and Bass had five fish totaling 10 pounds, eight ounces for the 2020 event.

“We were within two pounds of winning,” said CFCA coach Brian Ennis. “It was a great tournament. We figured things out a little bit the second day.”
