CFCA teams play for MCC middle school titles

Cape Fear Christian Academy’s middle school boys soccer and volleyball teams will play for tournament championships in the Mid-Carolina Conference today at 4 p.m. at Lee Christian.

CFCA defeated Crossroads Christian, 2-0 (25-14, 25-12), in the Eagles’ gym on Monday in the volleyball semifinals.

CFCA topped visiting Lee Christian, 3-0, in the soccer semifinals.

The Eagles play Cresset Christian in the volleyball final and will take on regular season champion Crossroads Christian in soccer.

CFCA won the MCC regular season title in volleyball and is 15-1 overall with an unbeaten record against League opponents.

Volleyball

Callie Wilson had five aces in the win Monday. Also recording aces were Finley Phillips (4), Bristol Stephens (3), Olivia Thompson (2), Avery Lassiter (2), Kamryn Knight (2) and Mady Tyndall (1).

Stephens had four kills for CFCA, Lassiter had three and Phillips had two.

Soccer

Gunner Dorman had two goals for the Eagles on Monday and Eli Shwaikeh scored one.

Dorman and Shwaikeh each had assists.

Jayce Barker was in goal for the shutout.
