CFCA varsity boys nipped

The Cape Fear Christian Academy varsity boys basketball team was called for a foul with 0.5 seconds remaining and The Burlington School made one of two free throws for a 45-44 win over the visiting Eagles on Saturday.

CFCA (8-2) got 12 points, four rebounds and two assists from E.J. Bethea. Riley Adams had 10 points, six rebounds, four steals and two assists. Ramiro Arrillaga had nine points, four rebounds and two assists. Mike Okoye added eight points and five rebounds.

The CFCA junior varsity boys, varsity girls and varsity boys play at Greenfield School on Tuesday beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Middle School Homecoming on Monday

CFCA’s middle school teams host Village Christian on Monday with the girls game at 4 p.m. and the boys game scheduled for 5:15 p.m. It will be Homecoming for the middle school.

The high school Homecoming is Friday with varsity games against Thales Academy of Apex. The girls tip off at 5 p.m. and the boys start at 6:30 p.m.
