The Cape Fear Christian Academy varsity volleyball team evened its record at 1-1 with a five-set nonconference win on the road Thursday over Community Christian of Wilson at Peace Church.

Anslee McLamb and Reyna Johnson were cited as match standouts for the Eagles by coach Calvin Gaines.

“They were passing well and both hit well,” Gaines said. “Those two were on.”

CFCA’s varsity fell 3-0 to Lee Christian at home in its first match of the season.

“It was a complete 180 degrees from Tuesday,” Gaines said. “It was great to see everybody coming together and talking more.”

CFCA opens Sandhills Athletic Conference play at home against Fayetteville Christian on Tuesday.
