Cape Fear Christian Academy’s varsity volleyball team defeated visiting Lawrence Academy, 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-22) on Friday in the quarterfinals of the NCISAA 1-A tournament.

The second-seeded Eagles (18-7) host Albemarle (20-6), the No. 3 seed, on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the semifinals.

“We understand that at this level you either perform or go home,” said CFCA coach Paul Hobbs. “Every practice and game we have to do our best.”

Bailey Dorman had 16 kills against Lawrence (16-9), the seventh seed, and Madeline Brocious had six.

Abby Hobbs had 22 assists. Rhyleigh Horne had 17 digs and Aslan Parrish had 10. Dorman and Hobbs each served five aces.
