CFCA wins in girls soccer, sweeps in middle school softball

Cape Fear Christian Academy notched its second varsity girls soccer win this season by a 2-1 margin at Liberty Christian in a nonconference contest on Friday.

Lexi Crumley had both goals for the Eagles. Both scores were unassisted as one followed a bad goal kick and another came on a missed clearing attempt by a defender.

CFCA visits Northwood Temple in girls soccer on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in a play-in game in the Sandhills Athletic Conference tournament.

CFCA turned back visiting Sandhills Classical by scores of 15-0 and 13-1 in a middle school softball doubleheader Friday to improve to 7-0 this season.

The Eagles have makeup softball games at Freedom Christian on Monday (April 29). The middle school game is scheduled for 4 p.m. with the varsity game to follow.
