Cape Fear Christian Academy’s varsity baseball team took a 12-2 nonconference Senior Day win over visiting Ascend Leadership Academy in six innings on Tuesday to improve to 6-3 on the season.

The Eagles expanded on a 2-1 lead with seven runs in the fourth inning.

Seniors Reid Miller, David Okropiridze, Barrett Raynor and Deshawn Woods were recognized with their parents after the game.

Miller limited the visitors to four hits and one run in five innings with two walks and seven strikeouts. Eighth-grader Cason Pope finished on the mound.

Every player in the CFCA lineup scored. Getting two hits each were Raynor, Cole Godwin, Miller and Trevor McLamb.

Woods and Zeke Brock had one hit apiece.

The Eagles visit Crossroads Christian of Henderson on Thursday for a 4 p.m. nonconference game.
