Coats-Erwin baseball wins at Overhills, 4-1, on 2-hitter

Tucker Brown and Wyatt Avery combined to pitch a 2-hitter as they were supported by strong defense in a 4-1 win at Overhills on Monday for the Coats-Erwin Middle School baseball team.

The Falcons improved to 3–0 on the season, while Overhills fell to 0–3.

Brown, the winning pitcher, went four innings, allowing one hit while striking out seven. Avery earned the save in relief, allowing one hit in the final three innings.

Leading the Falcons offensively with one hit apiece were Hunter Thompson, Jalen Evans, Avery, Brown, and Jaleel White, who played an outstanding defensive game at first base. Braxton Davis had 2 RBIs.

Coats-Erwin hosts Western Harnett on Monday.
