The Coats–Erwin Middle School offense provided plenty of firepower to back a solid pitching performance by Jamari Thompson in taking a 15–3 baseball win over the Highland Vikings in the season finale for both teams played Tuesday on the Falcons’ field.

Coats-Erwin finishes its season with a record of 9-3. Including last year’s 10–2 record, the Falcon eighth graders finished their middle school careers with an overall record of 19–5.

Thompson allowed only one earned run, striking out six in four innings. Braxton Davis pitched a scoreless fifth inning.

Tucker Brown had three hits for the Falcons. Getting two hits each were Hunter Thompson, Gavin Klein, Jaleel White, and Davis, who had a triple. Brown, Klein, and Thompson each had doubles. Adding one hit apiece were Cristian Barajas, Zachary Roberson, Thompson, and Zamonte McDougald.
