Winston-Salem edges Astros, 2-1

Winston-Salem expanded its lead in the Carolina League Southern Division second half baseball standings to two games with a 2-1 win over Buies Creek at Jim Perry Stadium on Saturday.

The lone run for the Astros came on a triple by Jonathan Arauz and RBI-ground out by Corey Julks in the sixth.

Jose Hernandez (1-2) pitched a complete game for Buies Creek. Hernandez allowed eight hits, no earned runs and had five strikeouts.

Astros hitters managed just three hits while striking out 13 times.
