The Dunn AAA (10-and-under) baseball All-Stars will be among 16 teams converging on the Brunswick County community of Ash for opening games Saturday in the Dixie Youth state tournament.

Dunn meets host Waccamaw on Field One on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the double-elimination event.

Softball brackets

Pairings also have been set for three Dixie softball divisions which will play their double-elimination state tournaments in Laurinburg beginning Saturday, July 14.

The Dunn Darlings (8-and-under, coach pitch) will play North Stanly in their first game at 5 p.m. There are 11 teams in the Darlings tournament.

The Dunn Angels (10-and-under) are matched against Topsail in their opening game at 10 a.m. There are six teams in the Angels field.

The Dunn Ponytails (12-and-under) are also in a six-team tournament and are scheduled to take on the host, Scotland County, in their first game on Saturday, July 14, at 11 a.m.
