Dunn AA 2-2 in district

The Dunn AA (coach pitch, 8-and-under) All-Star baseball team went 2-2 this weekend in the district tournament at Hope Mills.

Dunn athletic director Billy Roach provided results. Dunn opened the tournament with a 2-1 loss to Hope Mills National on Saturday before bouncing back to eliminate Lillington, 11-1.

Dunn ousted Hope Mills 17-3 on Sunday before falling 12-2 in its second meeting with Hope Mills National as the hosts had a big inning late in the game.

The Dunn All-Stars included Owen Bruce, Kole Daughtry, Nathan Hardison, London Hinson, Gage Johnson, Lincoln Keipper, Asa Richardson, Samuel Scott, Tyson Stephens, Wesley Tew, Jackson Williams and Peyton Woodall.

“All the kids played well,” said Dunn coach Larry Daughtry.

Dunn was presented the Sportsmanship Award for the district tournament.
