Play ended for Dunn’s AAA (10-and-under) all-stars in the Diamond Youth Baseball Division 2 state tournament at Ocean Isle Park on Tuesday with a 16-1 loss in four innings to Shallotte/

Liam Stroud broke up a no-hitter in the bottom of the fourth with a leadoff single and scored when Mason Matthews followed with a base hit as Dunn avoided a shutout.

“We only struck out once over the entire roster,” said Dunn coach Greg Tart. “We hit the ball, but didn’t hit it in the right place. They made plays.”

Dunn finished 2-2 for the tournament.
