The Dunn AAA (10-and-under) baseball All-Stars started play Saturday in the Dixie district tournament with an 11-0 win over Hope Mills National. Harry Johnson and Vander Phillips combined for a no-hitter.

Dunn played errorless defense and the only two baserunners for Hope Mills National resulted from a pair of walks.

Dunn edged Hope Mills American, 7-6, on Sunday, scoring four runs in the first inning.

Dunn led 7-3 going into the final frame, but the margin was cut to 7-6 when Kasey Lee got a game-ending strikeout.

There was a big defensive play in the fifth when Hope Mills had runners at second and third. Carson Tew made an over-the-head catch and threw to Tres Daughtry at second for an inning-ending double play.

Tew had a home run in the win as well.
