The Dunn PAL varsity basketball team traveled to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., to compete in the Teammate National Basketball Tournament, which was contested Thursday through Sunday.
The Wildcats played at the LeConte Center in downtown Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Dunn brought home second place out of eight teams in its pool, winning five of seven games.
The Wildcats began play with a 67-57 win over the Tennessee Impact on Thursday night as Shiquan Cox led the way with 12 points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots.
Christion Green had 11 points, nine rebounds, two steals and one block. Chrishaun Henry had 11 points and six rebounds. Maurice Williams also had 11 points.
Latrell McDougald and Khalil Ridges each scored six points. Terry Cooney and Eli Hudson added three points each.
Henry had 19 points and eight rebounds as the Wildcats overwhelmed the Alabama Heat Elite, 63-19, on Friday afternoon. Cox contributed 13 points and had nine rebounds. Williams scored 13 points. Green finished with six points.
Florence USA took a 70-59 win over Dunn despite 27 points by Ridges on Saturday morning.
The Wildcats bounced back to top the Union Hawks 66-55 on Saturday afternoon as henry had 19 points and seven rebounds. Williams had 11 points. Cox registered 10 points and 10 rebounds. Ridges netted 10 points.
Florence USA won its second matchup with Dunn, 62-47, in the championship game Saturday afternoon, overcoming a 21-point effort by Cox. Henry finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.
