Dunn PAL Wildcats win Walter Blue Tournament

The Dunn Wildcats won the 11-12-grade division of the Walter Blue Memorial Tournament on Sunday at Triton. The Dunn Police Athletic League Wildcats won the Walter Blue Memorial Basketball Tournament in the 11th-12th-grade division with a 56-52 victory over Truth Generation Elite of Wallace at Triton on Sunday afternoon.

Shiquan Cox had 13 points and seven rebounds in the championship game. Maurice Williams had 13 points. Khalil Ridges scored 12 points. Christion Green finished with 10 points and seven rebounds. Derreon Burnett scored six points and Terry Cooney added two.

The Wildcats opened play Saturday with a 57-39 win over the Carolina Thunder and topped Truth Generation Elite, 79-63, in their first meeting on Saturday.

The Dunn team downed the Carolina Thunder again in their first game Sunday, 53-28.

The event was sanctioned by the National Travel Basketball Association.
