Ella John Dupree and Madeline Brocious won the No. 1 and No. 2 singles on Wednesday as Cape Fear Christian Academy’s girls tennis team hosted Freedom Christian in a Sandhills Athletic Conference match at Triton.
Dupree dominated at No. 1 with an 8-0 victory. Brocious rallied from a 1-4 deficit to triumph, 8-5.
Freedom took a 7-2 win in the team scoring against the youthful Eagles.
“Everybody did well,” said new CFCA coach Page Jackson.
The Eagles changed coaches after Jay James accepted a teaching position at Harnett Central.
Jackson played tennis at Dunn High School. He has been a tennis instructor in the Dunn area for many years and has coached girls tennis previously at CFCA.

Madeline Brocious rallied for a win in the No. 2 singles for the Eagles.
