Cape Fear Christian Academy’s varsity girls and boys basketball teams will play for championships in the Senior Classic, hosted by the Eagles, today.
The CFCA girls took a 58-47 win over Southeastern Christian of Shallotte on Friday night and will play Community Christian of Wilson for the title today at 2 p.m. The Cyclones advanced by topping Village Christian of Fayetteville, 28-16.
The Eagle boys advanced with a 60-51 win over Southeastern as Kayden Dunkins had 25 points and Caden Scarborough added 22. CFCA plays Community for the boys title as the Cyclones downed Village, 70-28.

“We had problems turning the ball over early, but the fourth quarter was solid,” said Eagles boys coach Dwain Ellis. “Fan support was tremendous.”
Scarborough had six assists, five rebounds and three steals. Dunkins had six rebounds and two blocks. Justin Chestnut contributed five points, five rebounds and two steals. Lathan Wilborn had six rebounds.
Senior Glenna McLamb led the CFCA girls with 20 points. Savannah Autry scored 17.
Lily Kate Dupree had nine points. Christianna Wynns netted seven points. Megan Harrold scored three points and Ella Wilborn tallied two.
“Great win to start our season,” said Eagles girls coach Ray Butts.

The Lady Eagles play at 2 p.m. today in the Senior Classic final.
