Eagle varsities look to follow up on wins Monday

Cape Fear Christian Academy posted a pair of wins in softball at Mintz Christian Academy and in middle school baseball at Freedom Christian in Fayetteville on Monday.

The Eagles will look to keep a winning week going with home games today against Grace Christian of Sanford in varsity softball at 3:30 p.m. and a varsity girls soccer match with Bradford Christian of Mebane at 4 p.m.

CFCA travels to take on Wayne Prep in varsity baseball at the East Carolina Athletic Complex in Goldsboro at 4 p.m.

Middle School Baseball

CFCA was a 15-0 winner in three innings at Hope Mills Recreation Park as London Hinson pitched a 1-hitter with four strikeouts.

Hinson was 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of doubles.

Tyson Stephens had two hits with a triple. Mason Gregory had two hits with a double and threw out two runners at third from behind the plate.

Gunner Dorman, Landon Wagelin and Palmer Ennis had two hits each. Trystan Marlow and Parker McLamb also had hits in the Southeastern Conference win.

Softball

CFCA won, 13-2, on the varsity level and 17-0 in the middle school matchup on Monday.

Kristina Kennedy was 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs for the Eagles varsity. Megan Harrold had two hits with a home run, two RBIs and two runs.

Aubrey Multerer and Averi Williams had two hits each. Niah Torres and Rhyleigh Horne also had hits for CFCA.

Horne yielded just two hits with eight strikeouts in five innings in the circle.
