Glenna McLamb pitched a 3-hitter with 16 strikeouts and no walks as Cape Fear Christian Academy took a 10-1 varsity softball win over visiting Grace Christian of Sanford on Tuesday.
Avery Lassiter had three hits with a double and five RBIs as the Eagles improved to 4-2 going into a game at Lawrence Academy (6-2) on Friday at 5 p.m.
CFCA led 8-0 through four innings when the Crusaders (3-2) avoided a shutout with a solo home run by McKenzy McDougald.
The Eagles had 10 hits with Megan Harrold and Kristina Kennedy collecting two each. Hailey Dupree had a hit and two RBIs. Hailey Wangein and Larah Tripp also had hits.
McLamb had an RBI and scored a run. Harrold had two stolen bases.
