Eagles honor winter sports athletes

Cape Fear Christian Academy honored winter sports athletes at a presentations ceremony in the gym on Tuesday, February 27.

Athletic director Al Myatt welcomed the gathering and headmaster Johnna Skatell gave the prayer.

Each athlete received a certificate of participation, which were created by second-grade teacher Candise Cowan

Decorations were done by Casey Ellis. Cherry Devane was responsible for printing the programs.

Coaches presenting awards included Mollie Cannady (middle school cheerleaders), Falon Kessler (middle school girls basketball), Alex Godwin (middle school boys basketball), John Blausey (swimming), Bill Parrish (junior varsity basketball), Ray Butts (varsity girls basketball) and Dwain Ellis (varsity boys basketball).

Myatt announced the awards in place of Raquelle Brock (junior varsity cheerleading) and Nikki Ennis (varsity cheerleading) as they were not able to attend.

At the close of the program, Zeke Brock was presented the game ball with which he scored his 2,000th career point.
