Eagles hosting NCISAA 1-A first round volleyball match

Cape Fear Christian Academy opens play in the NCISAA 1-A volleyball tournament on Tuesday (October 15) at 4 p.m. at home against Southeastern Christian.

The Eagles are 8-11 while the visitors are 10-8. CFCA is seeded higher due to strength of schedule.

Eagles seniors Jada Johnson, Larah Tripp and Hailey Wangelin will be playing their last home match.

Tripp has 80 blocks this season. Johnson leads the team in digs per set with 5.6 and Wangelin is averaging 4.0.

Today’s winner plays at Pungo Christian (11-10), the No. 7 seed, in the second round on Thursday.

MaxPreps has Pungo ranked No. 10 among NCISAA 1-A teams. CFCA is No. 11 and Southeastern is No. 14.
