Cape Fear Christian Academy will move to the Mid-Carolina Conference with the 2022-23 academic year.

The Eagles are currently members of the Sandhills Athletic Conference.

CFCA is a 1-A school in the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association. The SAC will be all 2-A schools in 2022-23.

The Mid-Carolina is a 1-A conference that includes Lee Christian of Sanford. Southside Christian of Clayton, Cresset Christian of Durham and Crossroads Christian of Henderson.

Grace Christian of Sanford is a current member of the Mid-Carolina Conference but will move to the Raleigh Area Athletic Conference as a 2-A school in the upcoming scholastic year.

“We share a Christian mission with our fellow schools in both conferences,” said Al Myatt, athletic director at CFCA. “The new conference allows us to compete with schools in our enrollment classification.”
