Cape Fear Christian Academy posted diamond sweeps at Lee Christian in baseball on Monday and at home against Halifax in softball on Tuesday.
Varsity Baseball
The Eagles (6-3) opened Mid-Carolina Conference play with an 18-3 win at Lee Christian as Eli Burns pitched all four innings.
Burns allowed five hits and three runs, two earned. He didn’t issue a walk while striking out nine.
Offensive support included Taylor Smith, who was 3-for-3 with four runs and two RBIs. Cooper Davis went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Conner Parrish had a double, two runs and three RBIs.
Tyson Stephens had a hit and two RBIs. Reid Davis scored twice. Fisher Stancil scored four runs and had an RBI.
Landon McLamb had a hit, two runs and an RBI. Mason Gregory had a double. Elijah Ellis scored a run.
CFCA visits Kerr-Vance on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Middle School Baseball
The Eagles (3-1-1) won, 9-0, at Lee on Monday as Reid Jones went 3-for-3 with a double.
Jones had a 2-run double in a 5-run second inning. CFCA took the lead on an RBI ground out by Carter Glass in the first.
Cam Brock and Chase Smith had multiple hits in the win.
Brock and Glass combined for the shutout.
The Eagles host Village on Monday at 4 p.m.
Varsity Softball
Gardner-Webb signee Glenna McLamb pitched a 2-hitter with 15 strikeouts and hit a 3-run homer in the third inning in an 8-2 win over Halifax.
Larah Tripp added a 3-run homer in the fifth as CFCA improved to 4-0 with a game at Freedom on Friday at 5 p.m.
George Mason commit Kristina Kennedy had three of the Eagles’ 12 hits with a double.
McLamb had two hits and scored on a 2-run single by Sailor Phillips in the second.
Hailey Wangelin had two hits and was on base for both home runs. Finley Phillips had two hits and scored a run. Megan Harrold had a hit.
Middle School Softball
The Eagles made a comeback from a 9-0 deficit to win, 13-9, and improve to 2-0.
Finley Phillips had nine strikeouts in five innings for CFCA. Offensively, she had two hits with a double, a walk and stole two bases.
Sailor Phillips was hit by a pitch, walked, singled and stole a base.
Kinsley Godwin had an inside-the-park home run, a single, a walk, and three RBIs.
Hailey Dupree had two hits with a triple and an RBI. Finlee Ring had two hits with a double and two RBIs. Raylon Hood had a single and an RBI. Tianna McKoy had a single and two RBIs.
Varsity Girls Soccer
The Eagles showed improvement defensively with a 2-0 nonconference loss to visiting Kerr-Vance on Tuesday.
The Spartans had defeated CFCA, 7-1, at home in the Eagles’ season opener on March 3.
CFCA lost, 4-1, at Lee Christian on Monday in an MCC match with Karlee Edwards scoring for the Eagles.
CFCA has a nonconference match at Christ the Cornerstone in Laurinburg on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Taylor Smith had three hits and four RBIs on Monday.
