Eagles raise money for Alzheimer’s research

Cape Fear Christian Academy had Purple Elephant Day on Friday, an occasion for Alzheimer’s Awareness.

The Eagles hosted Riverside Christian of Fayetteville for nonconference junior varsity and varsity volleyball.

CFCA won the JV match, 2-0, but were overtaken by a Riverside rally, 3-2 (25-22, 25-23, 22-25, 10-25, 15-13), in the varsity contest.

“Our girls were out of gas,” said Eagles coach Lolita Tripp after the varsity slipped to 9-4.

Bailey Dorman had 18 kills, five aces and 23 digs. Jada Johnson had 21 digs. Lily Gotlibowski had 22 assists.

The Eagles host Lee Christian for a Mid-Carolina Conference middle school, junior varsity and varsity volleyball matches today (September 19). It will be Pink-Out Day to raise money for cancer research.
