Cape Fear Christian Academy defeated visiting Oakwood, 13-0, in five innings in the second round of the NCISAA 1-A softball playoffs on Monday.
The Eagles (9-2-1) will take a 9-game winning streak into a semifinal game at Pungo Christian (12-4-1) today (Tuesday, May 11) at 4 p.m.
CFCA tied visiting Pungo at 6 in eight innings before the game was called due to darkness on March 5.
Sophomore Rhyleigh Horne pitched a complete game for the Eagles on Monday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out 11. Horne was 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI.
Seventh-grader Kristina Kennedy was 2-for-2 with a double, a triple and three RBIs.
Senior Anslee McLamb was 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs.
Mariah Bell had a hit and scored two runs.
Sophomores Cailee Ray and Bekah Ennis each drove in runs in the win.
CFCA scored twice in the first inning, five times in the third and added six runs in the fourth.
