Cape Fear Christian Academy’s boys and girls cross country teams ran in a meet at Triton on Wednesday with the Hawks and Lee County.

Triton coach Phil Abruscato shortened the course from the standard five-kilometer layout to one mile for girls and two miles for boys due to the heat.

Ruby George of the Eagles was third among the girls in seven minutes, 38 seconds. Gabbi Chiodo of CFCA was fifth in 8:29. Trinity Olive was sixth in 9:04.

For the Eagle boys, Jaden Crumley was 10th in 14:55, Trey Tripp was 12th in 15:24 and Chase Garcia was 19th in 18:55.

The CFCA teams are scheduled to run on Monday afternoon in a meet hosted by Freedom Christian.
